a5c7b9f00b A 707 aircraft jetliner on its way from Athens to Rome and then to New York City is hijacked by two Lebanese terrorists. The terrorists demand that the pilot take them to Beirut. What the terrorists don't realize is that an elite team of commandos led by Major McCoy (Norris) and by Colonel Alexander (Marvin)been called into service to eliminate all terrorists on the jetliner and who's involved in the hijacking and try to retake the plane before the terrorists kill all the hostages.

I've read a few of the reviews about this movie and have been amazed to learn that people actually liked it.<br/><br/>Yes it is a Hollywood action film… I know they tried to make it look serious… but Chuck Norris is anything but a good actor when it comes to making movies. Don't believe me? The Octagon, Invasion USA, Top Dog.. to name a few. The only Norris film I ever liked was Lone Wolf McQuade with David Carradine… <br/><br/>So what is wrong with Delta Force? Well, to begin with, the all black outfits, the lack of equipment, motorcycles with rockets on them and everyone toting UZI's rather than the standard M-4 or MP5 Navy. Also lets not forget that of the dozens of US special forces that storm into Beirut to free hostages, only one American soldier is killed.. and I'm guessing somwehere around 300+ terrorists are wiped out in less time than it took norris to memorize all 20 of his lines… <br/><br/>I like a movie that is just a tad bit realistic. If you want to make a movie about a serious issue you can't destroy the plot by adding in things that just aren't real. This was at a time when America really needed to see terrorists get their behinds kicked in. If there is one thing that Delta Force does do well, its kicking butt.<br/><br/>Hats off to Lee Marvin for trying to relive his dirty dozen days and attempting to bring that same acting ability here. <br/><br/>Bottom line: sorry Chuck… stick to karate.
Some time ago I saw this movie and the day later I read some user comments on IMBD. The movie was marked very bad at that time (about a 3 out of 10). Now it's a 5.1 out of 10. It's a pretty good action movie. It has a lot of action scenes that I really enjoyed. Chuck Norris is not a good actor. But in his movies that is always hard to notice because Norris is awfully quiet in his movies. There is not much dialog with him in it. But there also some stupid mistakes in the story. For example when the delta force wants to attack the airplane to save the hostages. They no there is going to be a fight with guns, and what do they do; They hide behind a fuel truck ! And when terrorist shoots on the fuel truck; BOOM. I hope the real delta force is smart enough to remove a fuel truck from a set with gun fire. So, I think is a pretty good movie. It's worth a 5.5 in my opinion. But if you want a movie with good acting quality you really won't like this one.

Passengers with Jewish-sounding names were moved apart from the others, and another passenger, U.S. Navy diver Robert Dean Stethem, was tortured and murdered, his body unceremoniously thrown onto the tarmac.
